Another Use For: A Pencil Cup

I don't know about all of you, but there are some mornings when I don't have time to do all of my makeup. But, there are a few things I don't like to leave the house without using. But, it takes time to go through my makeup to get to these things. So, I found an extra pencil cup at home, (this one from the Container Store) and decided to use it to put these almost everyday essentials in on my dresser!

Contents:
-MAC Concealer in NC20 (blemishes)
-Maybelline Instant AgeRewind under eye concealer
-Maybelline BB cream in light
-CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara (not my favorite honestly)
-Maybelline MasterBrow eye brow pencil
-Maybelline Great Lash Clear used to set eyebrows
-Sephora Eye Brow Brush/Lash Comb
-Sephora Eyelash Curler

(no, this post was not sponsored by Maybelline, or anyone else, even though it might look that way!)

How do you store your everyday makeup basics?

Brow-lelulliah

Eyebrows. We've posted about them before. We still love them. Here are some fabulous eye brow products--all under $9!

1. Brow Brush/Comb. This can be purchased at Sephora for like $6. It helps tame those brows and is good for tweezing assistance.
2. Maybelline MasterBrow. It's the weirdest, best thing. It's like a waxy pencil for your brows. You fill them in, but the wax also helps it to set. If I don't need flawless makeup for a whole day, I just use this. It works like a dream, and it can be found at any drugstor/Target. A warning: sharpening this thing is annoying, but for $7, I'll take it.
 3. Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara. Works as a setting gel if you've filled in your brows, or if you don't want to fill them and just want to set them. A great price at $4.
4. Tweezers. Any pair will do, you can find them at all prices. This isn't something for every day, but we all need them!

We love highlighters: both kinds! A random take on highlighters (the markers) and highlighters (for the face!)

Eponymous objects, but quite different! Happy Sunday!

1. Garnier BB Cream. I know it's not a real bb cream, but I still love it and it is so great when I'm rushing.

3. Benefit They're Real Mascara
4. NARS Blush in Orgasm. I might skip this step depending on the day.
5. Urban Decay Eye Shadow-Half Baked. I might also skip this step, but it's a good fall back!

Review: Tarte Lip Surgence Collection

If you're anything like me, makeup is always something fun to try out. Especially lip products. I've never tried a lip stain, but I think I am now addicted. (this is NOT a sponsored post or review.) I picked up this Tarte 5 Piece Lip Surgence Collector's Set a few weekends ago, and I've now tried every shade. I love it. at $34, it's such a steal. One of these goes for $24 alone, which is way too pricy, considering the Revlon options that are supposed to be wonderful. Here is my review on each shade.

Escape: Pretty sheer but shimmery, lasted a fairly long time. My least favorite.
Enchanted: My favorite. So great, lasted me over 5 hours, and fading appeared to be even.
Exposed: A great nude, easy to layer. A good basic.
Sweet: Fun and well, sweet. Lasted about 5 hours and is pretty sheer.
Elite: Another one of my favorites. So fun and bright, again lasted 6 hours.

This is a good steal, if you think you might be interested in at least two of these, you're saving
$12 by purchasing this set. Overall, so happy with these! Also, I must say they are moisturizing, but I don't know about 6000% because I don't even know what that would feel like.

Have or will you try this? Let us know!

Brush Up

Ah, makeup brushes. I received a request to post the makeup brushes I actually use and which ones I use for what product. I am going to flat out say that I use the absolute bare minimum in brushes. I probably should have more than I actually have. My mom only uses Bobbi Brown brushes, and she bought me several when I first started to wear makeup. I still use all of them to this day and I have added more to my collection! All brushes and photos are found on Bobbi Brown's website under the brush section here.

EYES:
Eye Shadow Brush-Use for basically all eye shadows.

Eye Liner-Used to apply cake liner. (also for gel, but I don't use gel.)

Cream Shadow-for applying cream shadows.

Angle Eye Liner-Used for applying all over/crease.

FACE:
Face Blender-Used to blend out face products, and to apply my shimmer brick.

Bronzer-used for bronzer.
Blush-used for applying blush.

Others that I don't own but many people would use:
-Foundation
-Concealer

I love my Bobbi brushes, but they are expensive. Let us know if you have other brands that maybe are less expensive that you still love!

Review: Benefit and Too Faced

I received tumblr requests to post reviews on these two products:

Benefit the POREfessional:

I received this product as a "free" 500 point perk along with a mini They're Real Mascara. It happened to be a fully sized product! I really do like it. It's only .75oz for $30, so it is pretty expensive for what you get. It makes my skin feel so smooth and velvety-so I love that. I am not an expert in the primer field, quite honestly. This is the first one I have had. If it lasts long enough for the price, I would repurchase it because I think it helps my makeup last longer. You don't need a lot of product either.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

HOLY GRAIL. I love this product so much. It is matte and perfect for those of us with lighter complexions. As pretty as the normal Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is, I think it would make me look muddy, so this is a great alternative. I love that is totally, completely matte. Sometimes I feel like bronzer with a lot of shimmer can make me look "shiny." It's perfect. It applies easily and smells like chocolate (for real.) I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Do you use any of these? Let me know!

Three Product Face

You have an 8AM class. You're just going to Starbucks and coming back right away. You're super tired and have a migraine. Of course, you feel bad about yourself or you're rushing. But, you're interested in that hot guy in your French class. Alas, the three product makeup regimen.

This is perfect for when you oversleep or you're only going to be out for a minute, but you just want to have a little something on your face.

1. Mascara: Always a quick and easy swipe, but will make a huge difference in your eyes!
2. Highlighter. Super easy, will give you a little bit of a glow, but it's not blush/bronzer.
3. Lipgloss. Some semi-neutral lipgloss is great to throw in your purse.
(add cover up if needed!)

Do you ever get ready in a pinch-what are your three must haves on a rushed/lazy makeup day?
Love,

Makeup Haul

It's C here! I just wanted to share some of the makeup I've purchased in the last month or so! (no, I didn't buy all of this at once!) A will be sharing some of hers too in the near future!

Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick: a tried and true favorite. I ran out of my old one! I use this constantly, and have been since 8th grade!

Benefit They're Real Mascara: So in love with this-I had to replace it after mine got mixed up and lost, but it's a great formula and makes your lashes huge!
Urban Decay Primer Potion: I don't know how I didn't prime my eyes before this summer-they make a huge huge difference. Your eyeshadows last longer and don't crease. I might purchase this in another color so I could wear it alone on lazy days!

Sephora 500 Point Award-I knew I had to snatch this up!
Benefit The Porefessional Primer: Pretty good sample size, I have not tried it yet, but will definitely see how I like it and have heard great things!
Mini Benefit They're Real Mascara: Yay! This one is already in my purse!

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer: I already love this stuff so much and it hasn't even been a week. It's perfect for medium/fair complexions and it smells great! I can totally tell it's a brown based bronzer, and not orange like so many others are!
NARS Lipgloss in Orgasm: I totally have contemplated buying this color for a long time, but the $24 price tag held me back. I am so glad I bought it! I love love love the color and the shimmer makes it a great basic gloss, and it's also my favorite blush. However, I don't really love the taste/smell of it compared to SmashBox and Revlon.
Benefit Speed Brow Eye Brow Gel: This is an odd little product. It's basically to keep your brows groomed and under control. I love it! I love that full brows are in for fall, so I didn't want to wax mine but I knew I needed a little extra help to keep mine from looking unruly! It's super easy and has made a huge difference for me.

Have you bought any new makeup recently? Let us know!

Many Benefits

This line of cosmetics has been around awhile. But, I've recently discovered how awesome Benefit Cosmetics' products are! (this is unpaid/unsponsored, just a real love!) The whimsical names and packaging don't hurt the amazing products! All of the images are from the Sephora Benefit Page

Benefit Watts Up: "a soft focus highlighter for the face." (love this!)

Benefit They're Real Mascara: "a jetblack mascara that lengthens, curls, volumizes, separates, and lifts for a spectacular out there look." (amazing and worth the price!)
Benefit Benetint: "the original and still the best rose tinted chic and lipstain"
Benefit Hoola Bronzer: "a beautiful bronzing powder."
Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick in Skinny Dip: "packaged in a one of kind lipstick case with Benefit's signature loop. Benefit's silky finish lipstick is the ultimate status simple that's so fabulously sexy, you'll want one in every shade." (love!!)

O La La, Those Lips!

Ever since I (A) rocked a deep purple lip at prom last month, I cannot get enough of experimenting with different lip colors. While I typically gravitate towards more subtle colors, I've really been appreciating mixing things up in my make up routine.

For prom I wore...

Here are some of my other favorites that I've been sporting as of lately...

As you can see, I've really covered the bases and have been trying all different colors. If you're looking to mix up your lip routine, I highly recommend checking out Revlon! The prices are affordable and the lipstick itself is great quality. Also, if you want to splurge on the perfect red lipstick- go with the Chanel lipstick above! It is perfect.

Reminder: The key to a perfect lip is lip liner!!! Always.

If any of you have any favorite lipsticks, please share below in the comments!!

Signature "Face": A's Edition

To be completely honest, I typically don't wear a full face of make up to school. When it comes choosing between an extra 10 minutes of sleep and apply the works onto my face, I usually go with sleep. Despite that, I usually have enough time in the morning to put cover up on if necessary and mascara. But when I do put on a full face of make up, these are my favorite products...

I admittedly discovered this primer/foundation duo when I was rummaging through my mother's makeup bag and I have not turned back since. I swear by this stuff. So lightweight and so natural looking.

Great concealer and is very moisturizing. Little pick me up when you're running on little sleep and those heinous little bags start forming under your eyes or when you see a breakout surfacing.

The primer and eyeshadow duo is perfection and literally stays on for over 24 hours. Don't ask how I know that...lolz. Unfortunately they don't make my favorite shade (Pearl N 08), but I also really like "So Elegant N 51" and "Dying for Fudge N 60".

I use this combination of Covergirl's Lash Blast Fusion and Estee Lauder's Projectionist High Definition Volume Mascara for my eyelashes. The combination is some weird level of perfection that cannot be explained. Just try it.

The best eyeliner I've tried in a while. Better than all the pricier ones and only like $8!

I totally agree with C on this one...Orgasm is the best blush! A classic.

Chanel's Levres Scintillantes Glossimer is the most amazing pinky-nude shade of gloss. So subtle and natural looking but adds so much to your look.

Hope you all enjoyed this! Let me know if you have had the same experiences with these products or want to suggest any products for C and I!

Signature "Face": C's Edition

We both love playing with makeup. It's something totally girly, and a great way of self expression! Here is my (C's) signature look!!
(all images via Sephora with exceptions linked.)
Mac Myth is my all time favorite lipstick. I know a lot of people feel like Myth makes you look ill, it's the perfect nude for my skin, and I love nude lips!
I've had more expensive mascaras, and I find that this one does the trick!
Urban Decay Naked Palette: This covers such a wide variety of neutrals, and I love love love it. I just received Naked2 for my birthday, and I'm looking forward to experimenting more! Sin and Sidecar are two of my favorites!

The Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick: I've been wearing this one since 8th grade! It was my first "real" makeup item, and it's still a favorite today! I wear it almost everyday.

I love my Bobbi Brown. This gold cream shadow is my favorite for night!

A classic, the NARS blush in Orgasm. Best ever!
What are your signature looks? Watch for A's favorites tomorrow!
XOXO,
C
