A's June Favorites

We haven't done one of these in a while, but here are our favorites for the month of June! A is up first.

After wearing this for prom, I fell absolutely in love with this lipstick! The color is perfect, it stays on for a while, it keeps my lips moisturized, and it didn't do damage to my bank account! I highly recommend this shade and any other Revlon lipsticks as well.

I have been obsessed with this L'Occitane hand cream set! The scents are so yummy and the cremes are amazingly moisturizing. This is a great set to invest in if you want to try a few different types of L'Occitane products that tend to be a bit more expensive on their own.

My inner New Yorker came out and I couldn't resist purchasing this great black blouse. I had seen so many blouses similar to this one, but for much much more money, so I knew I had to make the purchase. Since then, I've been wearing this shirt almost every week. It's so versatile and can be paired with so many different bottoms. Such a great investment!

I have so much love for this darling little Vineyard Vines koozie!! Tis the season for bbqs and outdoor parties which means I've been getting a ton of use out of this baby. Did I mention that I got this as a free gift from VV? Thanks Shep and Ian!

Yes, I know that putting guacamole on my June favorites is sort of weird...but I can't help but love it! I am a sucker for anything avocado. I even put avocado in my hair...Yes, it works! Here is my favorite avocado recipe!

Care to Dangle?

Everyone knows me (A) for my big pearl earrings. I usually wear them with every outfit, no matter the occasion. From the time I wake up in the morning, to the time I go to sleep at night, I always have my pearls in my ears. I even find myself getting weird looks from friends when I happen to forget to put my studs in or decide to switch things up with a pair of dangly or hoop earrings.

This summer I've really been loving trying new things. From makeup, to clothes, to jewelry, to experiences, I'm enjoying expanding my horizons and opening myself up to the novelties of life.

With my graduation money, I've recently gone on an earring spree and I've added a bunch of special dangly earrings to my wardrobe.

*Excuse the terrible quality Blackberry picture*
These are the beautiful earrings that sparked my recent obsession. My aunt gave these to me as a graduation gift. Made by Catherine Popesco, the design was rendered from the original molds that were created by the artists of the celebrated jewelry period of from 1900 through the 1930's. The molds are straight from Paris! Amazing. These are by far my favorites.

Can you tell that I love bright colors?!

Off the Beat Art by Sarah Ashley Longshore

As I've been researching different art to decorate my dorm with for next year, I've found some really interesting pieces of art that I thought would be interesting to share with you all. I stumbled upon Sarah Ashley Longshore's website and I have fell absolutely in love with every single painting of hers.

While C and I are art historians in the making and thoroughly enjoy the classics, this off the beat art is magical! Don't you agree?

'Queen Beta Audrey'

'Jesus Wants You to Have a Birkin Bag"

'Major Poontang'

'Anna's Closet'

'Vogue Bitch'

'New York Whisper'

All of the above can be found here
So pop culture-y! Amazing. Thoughts?

O La La, Those Lips!

Ever since I (A) rocked a deep purple lip at prom last month, I cannot get enough of experimenting with different lip colors. While I typically gravitate towards more subtle colors, I've really been appreciating mixing things up in my make up routine.

For prom I wore...

Here are some of my other favorites that I've been sporting as of lately...

As you can see, I've really covered the bases and have been trying all different colors. If you're looking to mix up your lip routine, I highly recommend checking out Revlon! The prices are affordable and the lipstick itself is great quality. Also, if you want to splurge on the perfect red lipstick- go with the Chanel lipstick above! It is perfect.

Reminder: The key to a perfect lip is lip liner!!! Always.

If any of you have any favorite lipsticks, please share below in the comments!!

The Sophisticated + Neutral Bedroom

So, we received a tumblr request on room decorating! Here is my first room look. I see this for the young girl who just graduated college and is at home/on her own! Or high school students revamping their room-but making it last awhile (basically anyone!)

This set is from Pottery Barn, fairly reasonable and sophisticated. You won't get sick of it.

The frame is beautiful. Classic and leather.

MYMM: Country Clubs

We all love going to our own clubs or visiting them with family in friends. For those of us who don't frequent clubs, there are a few important rules to follow.

1. Dress. Most clubs have a no denim policy (mine is very strict). Find out about other clubs before you visit. Make sure that things are appropriate length and not too tight.
2. Cell Phones. My (C) club is very strict on this as well. Make sure you know the rules before you take out your phone to answer your boyfriend's text!
3. Be polite to the employees. Just because you're at country club doesn't mean you're entitled to treat the employees poorly. If anything, it makes you look worse. Think about everything that they put up with-no need to add onto it,
4. Smile at everyone. No need to speak to anyone, but at least smile so you don't come off stuck up! (if it's your club, your parents will love to hear other members how sweet their daughter is!)
5. Don't leave things a mess. In the locker rooms and at the table, clean up. You wouldn't leave hand towels in your friends bathroom, would you?)

Enjoy visiting your club/others, but mind those manners! (from someone who has been on both ends, it means a lot to employees!)

Inspired: Marion Cotillard Midnight in Paris

Hello readers! Hope you're having a great Saturday! Here is a brief inspired post from Adriana's look here in Midnight In Paris!

Oddly, the dress was so hard to find and the Pucci handbag didn't happen! This was the closest one! Happy Saturday!

Croakies

Croakies. Where would I be without them? I'd be very poor because I would have lost 3 pair of sunglasses by now! They are cute and fun. I was embarrassed to wear them at first, but now, I love love love mine. Here are three faves!

Do you wear Croakies? Do you have a favorite pair?

Care for a Mocktail?

While we're not of age to drink alcoholic beverages, who said we can't enjoy a yummy summer drink? We love a good mocktail. Mock+cocktail=mocktail...get it?

Summer Sunset

This is a twist on the tequila sunrise. Pour a splash of grenadine over ice. Shake together equal parts lemon-lime soda (Sprite or 7Up) and orange juice. Add the mixture into a cute glass and garnish with a slice of orange on the rim.

Cherry Smash
Cherry flavored seltzer, lime juice, and a few teaspoons of sugar are the main components to this drink. Add some pitted cherries and mint leaves for garnish and you're good to go!

Rosemary Infused Cucumber Lemonade
Water, lemon juice, and a few tablespoons of agave syrup combine to make a delicious mix. Add a few slices of cucumber to the mix and along the rim of your class. Add some fresh rosemary for garnish.

Virgin Garden Fresh Bloody Mary
This one requires some preparation: Puree tomatoes in a blender with lemon juice, jalapenos, horseradish to taste, Worcestershire, sugar, celery salt and pepper, scraping down the sides as necessary. Refrigerate until chilled for about 2 hours.
Spear caperberries or olives and dilly beans on toothpicks to garnish.

Enjoy!!

Celebrity Summer Street Style

Here are some of our favorite street style looks from celebs as of lately...

We love us a good nautical navy stripe. Props, TSwift!

Our favorite look of them all on Eva Longoria! A classic white oxford paired with coral colored jeans. Chic.

Wistful Wicker

As of lately, we've been seeing the straw, woven material in so many accessories! I guess its considered to be a wicker-esque material. The material screams summer and pulls together any special summer outfit. It totally reminds us of picnic baskets and wicker chairs! Totally makes us want to go on a picnic!

 And the ultimate wicker accessory...

Do you like this trend? Would you rock the Armadillo handbag?

What We're Reading

A is reading...

While I've already actually read this book, (I read it in 8th grade and loved it) I've started reading it again recently and have gotten so much more out of it than I did a few years ago. Its a totally new reading experience. While it has always been one of my favorite books, as my mind has matured, I've really nurtured a higher level of understanding for the content of the novel.
I highly recommend experiencing this book. I describe the book as an experience because it is much deeper than just reading words on a page. Its powerful, courageous, and inspirational. A must read!

C is reading...

A true classic. Quite possibly one of my favorite books ever. Who hasn't read this novel at this point? The all too familiar story of teen angst and the phonies of the world. This too only gets better with age. This story of a preppie, Holden Caulfield, is relatable to us all as his journey through alienation, rebellion, and growing up is depicted brilliantly. Of course you should all read this if you haven't already.

What are you reading?

Its Been Real, Class of 2012!

Lots of emotions and weird feelings today. Its my high school graduation day and it could not feel more surreal. I've been among the same people for 12 years, since kindergarten, as I've gone to the same school for all of my life. I never thought the day would actually come when all of this would just end.

Did I mention how much I wish my bff C was here with me?! Ugh...

I'll quit with all of the sappy stuff. Obviously I had to share my outfit with you all! Here it is:

This J. Crew dress from two summers ago (I think?)

In this dusty blue color.

With my gold Jack Rogers wedges!

And my outfit wouldn't be complete without my pearls.

Cheers, Class of 2012!
