What We're Reading

A is reading...

While I've already actually read this book, (I read it in 8th grade and loved it) I've started reading it again recently and have gotten so much more out of it than I did a few years ago. Its a totally new reading experience. While it has always been one of my favorite books, as my mind has matured, I've really nurtured a higher level of understanding for the content of the novel.
I highly recommend experiencing this book. I describe the book as an experience because it is much deeper than just reading words on a page. Its powerful, courageous, and inspirational. A must read!

C is reading...

A true classic. Quite possibly one of my favorite books ever. Who hasn't read this novel at this point? The all too familiar story of teen angst and the phonies of the world. This too only gets better with age. This story of a preppie, Holden Caulfield, is relatable to us all as his journey through alienation, rebellion, and growing up is depicted brilliantly. Of course you should all read this if you haven't already.

What are you reading?

Love,
A+C

  1. Right now I am reading Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld. It was one of the recommended books in People awhile back. I also recently read Shawn Johnson's memoir "Winning Balance" and highly recommend it!

  2. The Catcher in the Rye is one of my all-time favorites and I always incorporate it into my lesson plans. I'm currently reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett. You can see more of my "virtual bookshelves" @ http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/7362257-coral-bachen
